Because it’s time to live.

To Really Live. | meredithbernard.com | Living in the LightAs another months slips away with another summer of another year, I find myself on a precipice, falling into fall in a whole new way this year.

Because next week I begin living the last  31 days of my life.

Well, not literally (not that I know of, anyway.) Figuratively I’m planning to live each day of October 2014 like I’m dying.

I challenged myself and I challenge anyone willing to join me and my friend Kirsten, who agreed to join the cause…because maybe this is the one thing we need to do to take the steps towards who we really want to be?

 Because maybe if we can find ways to live like we are dying, we will start to really live?

I’ve lived a lot of my life in-between one because and another, and now it’s time to live for the one because that matters…BECAUSE HE LIVES.

That song plays over and over in my head as I ponder this…Because He Lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He lives, all fear is gone. Because I know He holds the future…Life is worth the living, just because He lives.

Yeah, this is worth the effort. Because in the end, this one life is the only one we have to make count.

Joining Kate Motaung and a host of other amazingly talented writers as we hash
out five minutes of writing on a one word prompt. This week’s word was {because.}

  • […] community. We share thoughts; we share our feelings; we share our fears; and we share our honesty. Meredith Bernard is singing on her blog. She is singing that old fashioned hymn; so I decide to join her. […]ReplyCancel

  • So excited to see where this takes you. I’m sure it will be eye-opening and reminds me of that verse in James where it says we are all like vapor…here one day and gone the next. Much love, my friend. xoxoReplyCancel

  • Hooray for you and your friend for accepting the challenge! I look forward to reading what you have to say about living each day as if it were your last.ReplyCancel

  • Sounds like a great series, such a great topic! I’m looking forward to it.ReplyCancel

  • I love that hymn. I think I’ll make sure I have it downloaded on my phone and I’m going to listen to it on repeat for 31 days! It will help keep me focused on what really matters 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Because He lives I can face tomorrow. Because He loves me all fear is gone. The word because is so huge. Thanks for sharing. I still haven’t written my five minutes yet. I am starting backwards this week because I am trying to find the write words. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • I love your topic and I can’t wait to read your words in October. What a profound thought: “Because maybe if we can find ways to live like we are dying, we will start to really live?” Thanks for going deep and challenging me to do the same. Love your words and your heart! xoxoReplyCancel
