I’m new here…
I wanted to call this my “Hope Seeker Stack,” because alliteration is as much a love for me as Jesus and butter. I settled on hope seeking sisters, but that’s subject to change. I’m really not sure how this works. It feels like I’m standing on the edge of a cliff hollering into the void, with only my echo to answer me. (Not that I’m against talking to myself, it’s one of my super powers). There’s actually a lot of freedom in writing something you’re not sure anyone will ever read, though. Adding another platform to my life and app on my phone wasn’t on this year’s Bingo card (I just deleted about a hundred apps I never use…good job, Mer), but here we are. Here I am. I’m having trouble already distinguishing between “me” and “we” because my hope is that this will be a place to grow a community of “us.” While I have grown other communities online, I’m yearning for one centered around a communal love for Christ, while in the throws of middle-aged motherhood and a lot more questions than answers. I’m looking for a group of sisters who, like me, are looking for God in the messy middle, learning to live in the freedom of forgiveness and need encouragement to keep walking in faith over fear.
A few weeks ago, I dusted off a decade old blog that I had closed the door on. I talked about the shift that I’m feeling. If I was going to choose a word this year, that would be it. Shift. I know God‘s calling me to something different, but right now it’s all a fog. I don’t know, maybe hashing out thoughts here and hopefully finding some others heading the same direction will be a way to see the next steps a little clearer. Together. If I know anything, it’s that we’re better together. And we’re more alike than we realize. Probably something to do with being created by the same amazing God, don’t you think?
Anyhoo, here I am. Here we are. (Even though at this moment I have no followers. Subs? Stackers?? What are we called over here? 🥴) ((Is it ok to use emojis? For the love of sarcasm, beef and butter, I hope so.)) I’m already feeling some imposter syndrome after searching for others to follow. I’m not really good at neat and tidy (read: IMperfectionist) and I don’t have a clue what to do after I post this (assuming I figure that out.) But I’m game to try most anything once. Until next time…keep seeking God and let Hope find you. 🫶

I am not a writer. I am a Christ follower. I am looking for ways to grow closer to my Lord and Savior. Your videos and your love for Christ have touched me in a powerful way. I love Jesus, my family, my church family, music, pictures where I see God’s glory, and “fellow hope seeking sisters.”

It’s hopeful and it implies you’re not sitting idly possibly missing what God has for you. Praying for clarity for us both, but trusting He will provide light for next steps when we need it. Meredith, consider me part of the gang. I’m here for it. And I think emojis are just how we communicate now, as much as words! So use them—and gosh I just love how you write. It’s refreshing and makes me feel like I can relax a bit and just be myself.

Blessings to you on bringing this community together ❤️ I was just texting to a friend and saying I don’t know what my purpose is right now. My children are away in college. One is getting ready to graduate and one will graduate next year. I have two part-time jobs that equal full-time, I’m still looking for a purpose. But I want something with community. And I do have community at church, a wonderful group of ladies. But, like you, I am seeking a deeper level. Getting to know God, even more. And how can I be that Light to someone else. Letting them know that “I am here for you , and how can I help you?” I’ve had some rough patches, stayed on my knees, but through it all God was always been there. “I, too, have a story. And, your story matters.” “I’ll listen.” I love being a servant. I love my husband and my children, and I love serving them. I love serving my parish, my church families, and strangers. I am probably older than the other ladies here. That’s okay. I believe we serve an awesome GOD and we are all called to live a life of service. However to serve, we must have a strong faith and groups such as this one keep us in the Christian fellowship we need to stay strong. When my son’s were born 40 plus years ago, I thanked God for giving them to me and I immediately gave them and their lives back to God. I knew I needed HIS help raising them in this ever changing world of ours. Thank you for this new group and forum to learn and support each other and to serve our Almighty and Amazing GOD.

When I wrote my book, I totally felt I had Imposter Syndrome. I still do. My writing isn’t fancy and full of clever metaphors—more low brow stuff like puns. I also can’t stop myself from alliterating when given the chance. There’s a place in my book where I say I’m an avid alliteration admirer. I’ve been secretly hoping someone would notice the alliteration while I talk about alliteration and say, “I see what you did there.” The reviews have been more in the heartfelt category—ultimately that means more. Anyway, I’m new here too and have no clue what I’m doing here and scared I just added another app to distract me, but this one feels more mature and God-centred than the doom scrolling I end up doing on Instagram.
