Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

After becoming aware that I’ve been dealing with inflammation (most likely prolonged – and most likely I’m not alone in this 🙃) I started doing research about ways to combat it with food. Being someone who appreciates all-in-one approaches where possible, this smoothie has become a morning staple for me. It’s easily tweaked based on your caloric needs and/or taste preferences. Several of these ingredients are considered super foods and very good for gut health, inflammation and overall longevity. I’m not a health expert, but I am a student. And this is one lesson l’m learning and wanted to share. Cheers! 😊

Anti-Inflammatory Berry Smoothie

Prep Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Frozen Blueberries (or Berry Mix)
  • 1 scoop Beet Root Powder
  • 1 scoop Turmeric Curcumin
  • 1/4 cup Oat Bran (or regular oats) I add oat bran for blood sugar purposes. More digestible and less calories than regular oats
  • 1/2 – 1 scoop Protein Powder I prefer 1st Phorm Level-1 (Blueberry or Vanilla) This is the best protein powder I've found and I've tried a bunch of them. Taste is exceptional.
  • 1 tbsp seeds of choice (I use flax or chia – chia has more fiber) See equipment for link to flax seed grinder – also great for other seeds or coffee beans
  • 0.5 ounce Frozen Beef Liver (optional) I use our homegrown beef liver. It's a true superfood. You can also take beef liver capsules if you don't want to eat raw liver, but I promise you can't taste it this way!
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 – 1 cup Milk or Water I prefer Fairlife Fat Free – could also use unsweetened almond milk for lower calories

Equipment

  • 1 Grinder
  • 1 Blender
